2. Side by side

This image isn’t just a beautiful scene-it’s a story of resilience side by side. On my first solo photography journey, I stumbled upon this striking sight: two plants growing together atop the remains of a tree, long since drowned by the rising lake. The tree, once towering and proud, now hidden beneath the water, still offers life and support to these two companions above.

As I set up my camera, I saw more than just foliage and reflection. I saw a partnership-two living things thriving together, rooted in a foundation shaped by adversity. The drowned tree beneath them is a silent testament to endurance, a reminder that even in loss, something new can flourish. These plants don’t just survive; they support each other, their roots intertwined, their growth a shared journey.

Capturing this scene felt deeply personal. Alone on my trip, I realized that resilience isn’t always about standing alone-it’s often about finding strength together, side by side, even when the ground beneath you has changed forever. In this photo, I found a metaphor for my own path: moving forward, adapting, and growing, not in isolation but in connection.
